In 1975 Richard appeared in a stage show called "Mrs Grabowski's Academy" written by John Antrobus. The play had it's London premiere at the Royal Court Theatre. Richard starred alongside Cheryl Hall, Beth Morris, Philip Stone, Ian Charleson, Dennis Lawson, Simon Callow and Patience Collier.
